With the third round of the 2024 season taking place at Albert Park in Melbourne, Formula 1 is back for another season. In case you are planning on attending the March 21–24, 2024, Australian Grand Prix, here is all the information you will want.
Formula One raced back to victory at Albert Park in 2022 after a three-year hiatus. Charles Leclerc won the 2022 Australian Grand Prix from the starting grid after Max Verstappen withdrew due to mechanical problems; the race was held on a redesigned track in Melbourne.
Several red flag intervals and a disorganised finish marked last year’s race, which was more dramatic due to the new circuit configuration. Last year’s race at Albert Park was won by Max Verstappen, giving Red Bull their first Grand Prix victory in Australia in more than ten years.
What is the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix?
Every year in Melbourne, Formula One hosts the Australian Grand Prix. This race has been going strong since 1928, making it one of the longest running Formula 1 events.
The track known as the Melbourne Grand Prix hosts the event. The 5.278-kilometer track winds around the city’s beautiful Albert Park Lake and has fourteen corners that drivers must hug.
Lewis Hamilton, Ayrton Senna, and Michael Schumacher are just a few of the great drivers who have won the Australian Grand Prix.

Australian Grand Prix 2024 Prediction
Lando Norris finishes in the top-three in the championship
Despite not winning his maiden Grand Prix in 2023, Lando Norris had a career-best seven podium finishes, including six P2s, demonstrating his progress toward the top step.
He defeated highly-rated rookie teammate Oscar Piastri and scored a big amount of points that helped McLaren reach P4 despite making more errors than normal. One of the few drivers to push Red Bull’s runaway winner Max Verstappen for a Grand Prix victory on pure speed several times.
We expect McLaren to be a tough opponent from the outset, since they were the second-fastest package for much of the second part of the year and seem to be on the proper developmental track to challenge Red Bull, the world champions.
Red Bull’s competitors Mercedes, Ferrari, and Aston Martin will be difficult to defeat, but Norris will cut down on errors and be consistent to win more races and finish in the top three in the drivers’ standings.
Lewis Hamilton will lead again
Lewis Hamilton finished third in 2023 after failing to win for the second year in a row.
His ambition to pass one of the unstoppable Red Bulls for P2 showed throughout the year. His greatest was shown when he sensationally qualified second in Austin (before his disqualification during the race) and Mexico.
Mercedes has finally abandoned the notion that devastated the first two years of the current regulations cycle, but Hamilton believes they “have a North Star” that will return them to 2014–2016 form and eight straight constructors’ titles.
The team hopes Hamilton, who will start a new two-year deal next season, would prefer driving a more predictable, faster, and easier-to-control car. Even if a championship fight is doubtful, it should end his two-year losing run.
Aston Martin will win a Grand Prix
Maybe Fernando Alonso would have won the Monaco Grand Prix if Aston Martin had used intermediate wet-weather tires instead of slick medium dry-weather ones.
The two-time world champion secured eight trophies—my prediction—but failed to win, finishing second for his sixth podium in six races.
Aston Martin experienced a midseason slump, but they recovered to threaten McLaren for fourth place, thus they should be able to emulate Alonso’s 2024 heroics.
We predict Aston Martin will win a Grand Prix next season, their first since being reintroduced with the British automaker’s wings, unlike their Monaco mistake.
