Israel and Iceland: Previous Games
Israel last played away from home, against Andorra, in this tournament four months ago. On that occasion, the Skyblue and Whites triumphed 2-0 and will aim to repeat that achievement this week. But they haven’t won back-to-back games in nine months.

On the other hand, Iceland has won both of its recent friendlies and kept a clean sheet in both. Åge Hareide’s squad has suffered a 2-6 aggregate loss in their last two competitive matches. However, they may take heart from the fact that they have not lost in either of their previous two meetings with Israel, which gives them optimism going into Thursday’s game.
Probable Israel Lineup

Probable Iceland Lineup

Check out our predictions of the day for Israel vs. Iceland
Prediction 1: Israel x Iceland / Draw or Iceland
In Thursday’s Euro 2024 qualifying playoff against Iceland in Hungary, Israel may not have the physical attributes to back up its match odds.
After spending the past two qualifiers in Hungary, Alon Hazan’s squad is back in Budapest, although they have not fared well when playing at home. In November of last year, Israel salvaged a tie against Switzerland with an equalizer in the 88th minute, but they lost 2-1 against Romania.
They faced a similarly priced opponent in Romania, and they face an Icelandic team whose recent record is less than stellar. Age Hareide’s squad let in multiple goals in four of their five away Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Prediction 2: Israel x Iceland / Both teams to score
Although Israel’s consistency has been lacking in their last few games, one thing is guaranteed: they will score. In their past eight matches across all competitions, Alon Hazan’s squad has managed to score in all but one. Five of the matches had winning bets on both teams to score.
Another team that can score goals is Iceland. Our lads have scored an average of one goal per game in their previous eight games. They will be playing Thursday at home. During that period, they have also managed to keep a scoreless draw four times. However, their defensive performance vs Israel has been subpar, as they have let in two goals in each of their previous three matches.
Prediction 3: Israel x Iceland / Full-time draw
Two of the last three UEFA Nations League matches between these two sides ended in 2-2 ties; Thursday’s match might be just as tight, if not more so.
Both teams have star players in prestigious European leagues, so this match may go anyway. However, we’re taking Iceland in a thrilling penalty shootout to win this time.
